May's New Releases!!

Greetings Inky Friends!!

It's that time of month already with a GREAT NEW RELEASE from Technique Junkies!
And that means a BLOG HOP showing off the New Releases AND if
you order ANY of the May New Releases by May 8th, you receive 15% OFF!!!

If you are already hopping along, then you just came from the incredible Judy Jackson' Blog!

And now for my shares....

For the first card I used the new Face The Sunshine Stamp and
also Batik Star Flowers for the background!  I first made a "stamp pad" with a baby wipe and filled in blocks of color using alcohol re-inkers. I then pressed an acrylic block onto the 'pad' and stamping onto Glossy Cardstock. I was attempting the Smooshed Ink Blocks Tutorial from the Feb/March 2014 issue of the Technique Junkie Newsletter. It wasn't quite working out the way I had hoped so I dropped some alcholol blending solutions onto the paper to move the ink around a bit and then once I stamped the Batik background in Archival Sienna, I really liked it!

For the actual sunflower image I simply colored directly onto the stamp with
water-based markers, huffed on the image and stamped!
I inked up the sentiment with Sienna and colored in the wording a bit with yellow, layered
& trimmed the images onto brown card stock and popped them up with foam dots!

For my second card I used the Gelato Drips Tutorial from the December 2014 edition of the Technique Junkie Newsletter and the New Release Measure Herself Stamp.

I began by gesso-ing a pice of watercolor paper and allowing it to dry completely.
I then scribbled heavy blocks of Gelatos across the top and while holding the paper upright,
I sprayed causing the Gelato drip.

 I repeated the process a 2nd time.....

And then a third until I was happy with the results!
By using gesso first, this allowed for the several applications without ruining
and over saturating the card stock!

I stamped my girl using Memento black ink, and then colored her in by scribbling Gelato on
my craft mat and using a water brush to pick up the colors.

I love her hippie-boho-chic look and thought the rainbow drip background really complimented that!
Hope these projects helped inspire you and
you take advantage of the BIG 15% OFF SALE until May 8th!

Now it's time for you to HOP ON OVER to our fearless leader and
owner of Technique Junkie Stamps, Pat Huntoon!

Until next time....
Happy Creating!

Feeling Crabby?

Hello Inky Friends!

I hope this project won't leave you feeling crabby but ready for some beachy fun! (and maybe hungry?) LOL

For this project I used one of the April New Release's called Crabby. I'll admit that when I began playing, I wasn't quite sure what I was going to come up with- card, art or otherwise. I knew I wanted to try a beach with the Art Anthologly Paints, Sprays & Texture.
I also used some Tattered Angels products as well.
I began by spraying out some some of the inks and manipulating the beach colors a little heavier in some areas.

I then took a darker color and a toothbrush to splatter some specs of sand.

I sprayed some pink onto white and heat embossed the crab with a cranberry colored powder.

I didn't get a WIP photo of the smear of A.A. Paint I added in for the water but here's a close up of it. I applied a Fiber Paste with a palette knife for the clouds to add dimension.
Close up of crab and an extra sand mound I popped up.

Close up of the word DREAM using the Soliloquy Stencil

So there's the final piece! I think the crab is dreaming that it won't wind up on someone's dinner plate! HAHA!

Hope this inspired you to create some seasonal pieces of art for your home or possibly as a gift and not just for cards!!

Until next time...

Happy Creating!!

April's NEW RELEASE Blog Hop!

Greetings Inky Friends!!

It's April 1st and you know what that means!! Another GREAT New Release from Technique Junkies Stamps!  Order before APRIL 8th and receive 15% OFF the New Releases too!!

If you are hopping along in order, then you just came from the talented Kathy!
And if you're not sure you're seeing all the great New Release posts, hop back to the beginning right HERE!

So let's get started!  I used the background Vortex to create this fun rainbow effect using Copic markers! Now I'm the first to admit that once in awhile I follow the Copic 'rules' when it comes to choosing colors  but more often that I usually just choose colors I like and somehow manage to make it work. (Well I think so anyways) LOL

Next I wanted to add some shine and dimension so I
grabbed some Journey Glaze and let it dry completely.

I stamped out the NEW I Love Rainbows Stamp and colored her in with Copics as well and die cut her from the Fancy Label Die - Edged the piece with a black marker and popped her up on the card with foam dots and called her finished!

Hope you enjoyed this look at one of the new April stamps and until next time...

Happy Creating!!

Flamingo Fun

Greetings Inky Friends!

It's Tonya again with another Stamp from the March Release!  I'm using this fun Flamingo that comes with an awesome saying and the Plaster Swirls background stamp.  I can see myself using this background a lot!

For the back ground, I used the MINX inks and dropped some onto an acrylic block. I then used a sponge to pick up the ink and dab it onto my background stamp.  I misted a piece of watercolor paper and laid it onto my Minxed stamp.  I pulled a second impression by misting the actual stamp this time and pressing the paper onto it. That second impression is what the Flamingo in stamped on. I then lined up the pieces of the backgrounds and popped the Flamingo up.

Thanks for stopping by and until next time....

All Ears!

Hello Inky Friends,

Just a couple more minutes before Easter is over for another year!
This year Easter fell on my birthday! So it was a wonderful day from beginning to end with a beautiful church service and dinner and time spent with family and friends. I am truly blessed!

I wanted to share a card I made with the All Ears Bundle. This set was so popular it quickly became on back order! He's so cute, I can see why!

I used the Yummy Dots Embossing folder for the background and the Spring Parade Paper from the Spring Mini catalog!  You only have one more week to purchase from this catalog so let me know how I can help! That cute little Pom Pom is from a pack that you can earn FREE when you place a $50 order!

You also have a week left to order from the LUCKY ME, LUCKY YOU campaign where there's a TON of "green" items reduced 20% OFF! There's inks, cardstock, dies and  so much more!

I hope you take the time to browse my website and get a feel for our products. They really are top-notch! And drop me a line to find out how you can get your hands on the hard copy if you'd like! :)

Make sure and stop by my side-line, Sheree Dilley Blog to see what she created with the same "All Ears" set!

And my upline, Alex Gomez took advantage of the Luck You Lucky Me promotion and made some cute St. Pat's cards!

Greeting Inky Friends!!

Today I am sharing a card using Mug Shot as well as 'sneak peeking' a couple new stamps that will become available with tomorrow's New Releases!! So make sure and come back then for the Monthly New Release Blog Hop and SALE! :D

I stamped the background in Versamark and heat embossed Clear Embossing powder. I then sprayed the background piece with Fun Stamping Journey's Silver Color Splash which allowed the embossed part to resist the spray. I added splatters using FSJ SILKS in Silver and Cranberry. I added GLAZE on the Inmate Number for extra dimension.

See you tomorrow for the March Blog Hop!

Happy Creating,
Tonya :)
