A Little Sympathy

Greetings Inky Friends!

Today's card was done with one of the July New Releases called Something Will Grow
I just love the flower in this set and ended up carefully cutting
the sentiment away from the flower so I could use it
alone with other sentiments when I wanted. I chose With Sympathy for this card.

I created the background by blending Pan Pastels together and using the Cloud Piercing Die
which both can be found through Fun Stamper's Journey!

I was able to slightly bend the stem of the flower on my acrylic block
before stamping it several times in black ink.
I used a dark blue in for the sentiment and popped it up.

Until next time....

Happy Creating!

Time for a Road Trip??

Greetings Inky Friends!!

Wishing every a wonderful
4th of July and Happy Independence Day!!

There's still FOUR DAYS LEFT to take advantage of the 15% OFF JULY NEW RELEASES over at Technique Junkies Stamps!!!

I don't know about you, but I am ALWAYS up for a road trip ~ especially with my best girlfriends!! So when I received this stamp, I looked at it very fondly and lots of memories came flooding as well as a longing for what I feel, needs another trip to be planned SOON! ;)

This focal image stamp is called Chick Car
and uses a greeting from (((drum roll)))....  Road Trip!
I also added some texture to the green card base using the background stamp
I have a feelingI will be using this background quite a bit!
I love the look and can vision other 'uses' for it as well!

I colored the image with markers and Pan Pastels.
Stamped Road Trip on a circle and popped it off the front on top
of adding several strands of bakers twine along the side.

Inside I think I'm going to stamp the sentiment "I forgot, am I Thelma or Louise?
and send it to my friend who's the last (and favorite!) road trip I went on with - an epic adventure traveling all over Arizona and New Mexico in a white convertible Mustang!!

Share with me, your favorite Road Trips, will you? :)

Until next time....

Happy Creating!

Greetings Inky Friends!!

Yay! It's July 1st and time for another
NEW RELEASE Blog Hop

from Technique Junkies!
And as always, place your order for the
NEW July stamps by July 8th
and receive a 15% discount!!

If you are already hopping along in order then you just came from
the talented Judy Jackson.

When I saw this sentiment by Roald Dahl, I instantly thought of all those paper
'starburst' backgrounds I keep seeing. So I did a search for instructions and found a
relatively easy one that will create 2 cards by making one set of cuts!
Since most of the time you see these tutorials using patterned paper
and I used 2 shades of yellow, I added some texture by stamping

For the second card, I flipped the orientation of the bursts and
used the new set, Something Will Grow.

I first inked the top of the flower in a solid yellow and stamped.
Then I colored directly onto the stamp with markers and
stamped on top of the solid yellow for a layered "2-step" effect.

I love how bright and cheery these cards are that are filled with positive optimism and good wishes!

Next up on the hop is the TJ Junkie owner, herself, Pat Huntoon!

Until next time,

Happy Creating!

I wish every day was a beach day....

Hello Inky Friends!

Today's card is pretty quick and simple as I am working with limited access
to all my artsy supplies at the moment.

I LOVE this stamp though and again, I think it lends itself very nicely to creating summer masculine cards ~ especially if you have a Birthday Greeting to add to it!

I used Sea Grass Lighthouse for the focal image cutting it out from the Journey Ovals die set.
I colored the image  lightly with colored pencils, added some Journey Twine behind it and
popped it off the card front. The image Beach Day was stamped along the bottom.
The cloud embossing folder is also offered from Fun Stampers Journey
and I inked up the raised side with white ink before running my blue paper through the machine!

We are just a couple short weeks to another NEW RELEASE Blog Hop and I've already seen a preview of some of the new stamps!! Mark your calendars for it now so you won't miss the hop and the sale! ;)

Until next time...

Happy Creating!

I'm a little mermaid...

Greetings Inky Friends!!

This card I found a tutorial from the April/May 2013 Technique Junkies Newsletter called Watercolor Crayons Tutorial.  I began by coloring in blocks of color with watercolor crayons and then using an AquaBrush to blend each color.  I then dropped some water onto the piece and immediately blotted with a tissue picking back up some of the color creating additional texture - which of course the new Pebble Beach stamp covered up! LOL Oh well!

I stamped the background using Black archival ink and the mermaid
from By The Sea in blue. Trimmed her out and added a pearl in her shell
popping up both the mermaid and the banner sentiment with foam dots.

Don't forget! You only have until June 8th to SAVE 15% on
ALL the JUNE NEW RELEASES and there are
SO MANY wonderful beachy - summer images this month !!
Perfect for card making, journaling, scrapbooking,
home decor and so much more!!

Until next time...

Near the Sea...

Greetings Inky Friends!!

It's June and that means another BLOG HOP for
June's NEW RELEASES over at Technique Junkies!!

If you're already hopping along, you just came from the talented Judy Jackson's Blog!
She always has outstanding ideas!!

And as always, enjoy 15% OFF
ALL NEW RELEASES
if you order by June 8th!

For my card, I used this lovely photo background stamp, Beach Buds.
I inked the image in Ranger Black Archival and stamped onto watercolor paper.
Before I began coloring, I painted some of the highlights
with Art Anthology Dazzle Clear Coat.

At one point in my coloring - just when I was just about to call it finished, I did something wonky with the blue right by her hand and couldn't 'correct' it.
So I decided to crop it off and boy am I glad I did!
I think it helped a lot with my card's composition that I originally wasn't going for!!

For the base of the card, I used the new Sea Urchins Background stamp and
a greeting from the By The Seas set!
I ripped around the sentiment, sponged some ink and popped it off some natural thread.

By the way, I colored the focal image using the "new-to-me"
Zig Clean Color Real Brush Watercolor Markers.
If you have a chance to try them, I suggest you do!  They are a little on the pricey side,
but if you love to color and blend, I think you will like these markers!!

I hope you enjoyed my card and this month's New Release!!
I simply ADORE all the FUN SUMMER images this month and
can't wait to hop along with you all to see everyone's creations!

Next hop, owner and technique extraordinaire, Pat Huntoon!

Until next time...
Happy Creating!!
OXOXOX ~ Tonya :)
